A hand-built wooden boat is more than just a boat, however, as it’s also a work of art that draws admiring glances wherever you go. Whether your interest lies in a traditional canoe, a boat tender, a sailing dinghy or a traditional craft, Northboats can help turn your dreams into reality.
In our workshop we can build craft up to an overall length of about 19ft. Using plans from established designers, we will discuss all aspects of a new build with you, ensuring you choose a boat that is just right for your needs. As the build progresses you will be welcome to visit the workshop to watch the progress and share in the creation of your own special boat.
	We can even make a pair of personalised oars that will be unique to your boat and every boat we build, no matter how small, receives a complimentary bottle of finest Scottish malt whisky to wet its bow on launch day. Wooden boats represent the future, not the past. As far as is possible we build using environmentally sensitive methods with timber sourced from managed sustainable woodlands.
